Some Of The More Popular Lucid Air Software Bugs

June 15, 2022

There is no question, the Lucid Air drive and build is excellent and is now even more outstanding after the enhanced PDI steps the company is taking. But there is no question, Lucid is playing catch up on some of the software fronts. Personally, I love beta software, so I am looking forward to these kinks and bugs (I know, I’m weird) but truth is, Lucid has set expectations that the software is new and will improve with over the air updates. As long as the hardware is solid, and it is, then the software updates can push new and improved features all the time to Lucid Air owners.

That being said, there are still a lot of frustrating software issues with the Lucid Air, even after many software updates. Trust me, Lucid Motors is aware of them and is working on future updates to address all of them. But for now, here is an excellent list of issues from the Lucid Owners Forum:

  • Navigation getting stuck in one place
  • Bass dropping out in stereo system
  • Car getting stuck trying to park due to sensor issue
  • Car abruptly stopping with apparently no object in front
  • Pilot Panel blanking out
  • Unexpected Frunk Opening while in a drive mode
  • Shock and Tilt alarms going off without cause
  • Car not initiating charging

There are more listed in that forum thread but those are some of the more common and talked about issues.

Which have Lucid owners dealt with first hand? Here is how the poll is looking almost a week after it was posted:

  • 11 votes on Pilot Panel blanking out
  • 7 votes on Car not initiating charging
  • 7 votes on Navigation getting stuck in one place
  • 5 votes on Shock and Tilt alarms going off without cause
  • 5 votes on Bass dropping out in stereo system
  • 3 votes on Car abruptly stopping with apparently no object in front
  • 2 votes on Unexpected Frunk Opening while in a drive mode
  • 1 vote on Car getting stuck trying to park due to sensor issue

Keep in mind, the Lucid Air version 1.2.6 OTA update may have addressed some of these issues but not all.
