Lucid Motors Officially Launches Grand Touring Performance Model

April 12, 2022

Lucid Motors teased a new Lucid Air Grand Touring trim with the P label and now it is official. Lucid Motors announced a new Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance edition. The performance edition is faster, more expensive and has less range than the main Grand Touring trim.

The Performance model costs $179,000 and goes up to 1,050hp and 0-60mph in 2.6 seconds. It also will be delivered later than the current Grand Touring, starting in June 2022 in the US and August 2022 in Canada.

Grand Touring Performance Cost

The Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance edition costs $179,000, which is actually $10,000 more than the Dream Edition. But the Grand Touring Performance edition is a bit slower than the Dream Edition and is not as exclusive.

Grand Touring Performance Speed

The Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance edition has up to 1,050hp and goes from 0 to 60mph in 2.6 seconds. With it costing $10,000 more than the Dream Edition, it is also not as fast as the Dream Edition. The Dream Edition can 0 to 60mph in 2.5 seconds and has up to 1,111hp.

Grand Touring Performance Range

The range for the Lucid Air Grand Touring Performance edition is 446 miles of range on a full charge, that is less than the cheaper Lucid Air Grand Touring main model at 516 miles of range and less than both the Dream Edition models. The Dream Edition Performance gets 471 miles of range and the Dream Edition Range gets 520 miles of range.

Here is a chart comparing the normal Grand Touring to the Performance Grand Touring:

Paying More For Less

So clearly those who got their hands on the Dream Edition are going to be happy about this. They paid less for more on both trims, the performance and the range.

Personally, I want more range and less speed – so I am not going to change my reservation from the normal Grand Touring to the Performance version of the Grand Touring.
